Easy Turkey Recipe

It’s March and that means it’s time to get our 1/4 cow to stock up in the freezer! That also means - freezer clean out! Where we go through the whole freezer and grab anything that’s been in there a while and make a plan to cook it so we can make room for the beef!

This turkey recipe is SO easy. I have to admit I was intimidated. I never cooked a turkey before but this came out SO good. It is a combination of a few people’s suggestions and recipes that I just added my own twist on - like always! :)

It’s important to brine the turkey. I used a huge 2.5 gallon ziplock to brine mine but I know you can use pretty much anything that the turkey can be totally immersed in the brine in. I brined it for about 48 hours.

Easy Turkey Recipe

Serves: Depends on the size turkey you have!

Ingredients:

  • 4 Cups Water

  • Salt

  • Traeger Seasoning

Directions:

  1. Mix the water and salt.

  2. Put turkey in large ziplock bag or large pot so it can be fully immersed in the water brine.

  3. Let the turkey sit for 24-48 hours! The longer the better and juicier.

  4. Take the turkey out of the brine and bag and put into a roasting pan.

  5. Douse with traeger chicken rub - ALL OVER THE PLACE.

  6. Let cook at 350 for a half hour per pound of meat!

  7. Let sit for an hour or two in the juices with the cover on!

  8. Cut and serve and enjoy!
